“London's famous (but very busy) Oxford St” (has lived here)

Lived in an apartment for 2 years on Oxford St, my wife loved it, the shopping here is some of the best in Europe with numerous department stores. Yes, it is a busy part of the world and you need to be careful with your belongings (my wife had her purse stolen twice!) but you really cant beat it for excitement levels, proximity to bars, theatres and did I mention the shopping! Transport was also very easy with the tube.
