Cosmopolitan area bordered by Kensington Gardens (visited the area)

With a population density of 17,500 people per square kilometre, Bayswater is a particularly cosmopolitan area of west London bordered by Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. It is a popular town among professionals working in central London and tourists who come to stay at the countless number of local hotels. Permanent residents are largely of Arab, American, Greek and Brazilian decent, though celebrities such as JM Barrie, Jeremy Clarkson and Winston Churchill have lived here also. Bayswater is neighbour to Paddington, Notting Hill, Knightsbridge and Maida Vale. Architecture in the town is made up of Georgian stucco terraces and garden squares, many of which are divided into flats. There are properties to suit everyone in Bayswater, from exclusive and expensive apartments to small studio flats, old purpose-built apartments and a large council estate. Bayswater underground station is in zone 1 and sits within the immediate area, as does Queensway, Royal Oak and Lancaster Gate tube stations. Bayswater is also the home of Marble Arch and the Opus Dei UK headquarters.
