Overall Rating4/5

Lovely location to live and visit (visited the area)

Set along the south bank of the river Thames, Bermondsey is home to a mixture of both residential and commercial properties, many of which are redeveloped warehouses which are considered to be among the most expensive properties in London. An ideal location for professionals working in central London, Bermondsey has excellent public transport links by way of Bermondsey tube station on the Jubilee line and South Bermondsey train station together with buses running into central London and nearby areas such as London Bridge, Canary Wharf, Southwark, Wapping and New Cross. For locals, there are plenty of attractions to visit on weekends including the Bermondsey antiques market, Bermondsey Spa Garden, the Fashion and Textile Museum and Bermondsey Abbey. The area has seen quite a recent upsurge in artistic and commercial activity and is home to many trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Many art galleries are scattered throughout the town as well, making Bermondsey a lovely area to visit and live, as long as you have the means to afford property in such an expensive part of south London.
