Overall Rating4/5

Wealthy suburb in the heart of London (visited the area)

Situated between highly desirable towns such as Knightsbridge and Chelsea, South Kensington is a beautiful area with a twist. Though it is largely wealthy and well regarded, South Kensington is different from its neighbours as it is also a hotspot for tourists and students. Centrally-based and home to many institutions including the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, Royal Albert Hall, Imperial College London, the French Consulate and Baden-Powell House, South Kensington plays host to a variety of European communities, especially French. This is evident in many of the area's shops, cafes and language schools. South Kensington has a tube station which links it with all stations on the Piccadilly, Circle and District lines including Wimbledon, Heathrow, Paddington, Victoria, Leicester Square and Kings Cross St Pancras. The area has some stunning properties in it as well as graceful garden squares and beautifully-kept streets, and has been home to famous figures such as Francis Bacon, Benny Hill, Mika and Dakota Blue Richards.
