A trendy north London suburb based just a few miles from central London, Muswell Hill has developed into a fashionable area with fabulous nightlife and shopping. Unusually for a London suburb, it has managed to maintain its village atmosphere and is home to a host of stunning buildings, many of which have been converted into flats sitting above shops along the High Street. Though it does not have its own tube or train station, Muswell Hill is serviced extremely well by buses and has 24-hour connections to the City and West End. Buses also run into the several nearby tube stations including Highgate, Finsbury Park, Bounds Green and East Finchley. Muswell Hill is a very popular neighbourhood among young professionals working in central London who appreciate the features of this fantastic town, which include Alexandra Park, Highgate Woods, a grade 2 listed cinema complex and the Edwardian architecture that adorns the main shopping streets. Property in Muswell Hill is expensive but much of it has spectacular views over London. There are also very highly-regarded schools in the area and many upmarket shopping brands. Home to a number of actors, journalists and musicians including Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet, Muswell Hill is the birthplace of Ray and Dave Davies from the Kinks and Johnny Borrell from Razorlight. Reportedly, Adam Ant also briefly lived in the area with his wife and her parents.
