Atmospheric and characteristic west London town(visited the area)

An atmospheric west London-based town filled with character, West Kensington is a very centrally-based town which is primarily residential. A cosmopolitan enclave, it plays host to a number of small shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels and offices and is home to the Olympia Exhibition Centre and the Queen's Club at Barons Court. Lower property prices compared to its neighbours, which include Shepherd's Bush, Holland Park, Kensington, Earl's Court, Fulham and Hammersmith, make West Kensington a popular location among young professionals and students, especially those from America, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Australia and New Zealand. Property in the area comprises Victorian terrace houses, many of which have been converted into flats, mansion blocks and ex-local and local authority buildings, some of which have been renovated and sold off. West Kensington is brilliantly served by public transport with buses running frequently to nearby location such as Notting Hill, Oxford Street, Paddington and Chiswick, and West Kensington tube station providing links to west, south west, central and east London. West Kensington's famous residents have included Mahatma Ghandi, Sir Stirling Moss and Konnie Huq.
