Residential road with an A-road and, at night, drunken revellers, passing through (has lived here)

Portsmouth Road is an attractive part of the A307, with large residential buildings on either side, and useful shops (newspapers, fish and chips, cakes, tiles etc) towards Winters Bridge. In recent years, traffic has increased, and cars now park on either side of the road, slowing cars and unexpectedly making it harder for pedestrians to cross. Vehicle noise dies down by 11 pm and re-starts around 6 am. Occasional revellers wander down the road, late at night, shouting at each other, sometimes damaging cars and moving dustbins. Overall Portsmouth Road is a great place to live -- close to the country, yet also close to the shopping metropolis of Kingston. But it isn't perfect...
